The Hub combines qualitative and quantitative methods, integrates social science perspectives, and partners with civil society, researchers and communicators to develop evidence-based strategies. 

About the Role 

The Comms Hub is looking for Digital Researchers to develop reports focused on Italy, Germany and Poland. You must speak the local languages of ONE or TWO countries you apply for (Italian in Italy, Germany in German, or Polish in Poland) besides English, and have a solid understanding of local sociopolitical contexts. The role supports digital research and mixed-methods data analysis on narratives, audiences, disinformation and online social dynamics. Work is carried out under supervision, helping to turn complex data into actionable insights and accessible content for civil society organizations. 

  • Contract type: Part-time 50% (12 months, 1 language/country) or Full-time (12 months, 2 languages/countries), self-employed   

  • Level: Junior 

  • Location: Remote 

  • Work authorisation: Applicants must already hold a valid EU work permit. The organisation does not provide visa sponsorship. 

  • Start date: Second half of January 2026 

  • Languages: English (required) + one of: Italian, German or Polish 

  • Salary: Up to 24,000 EUR - total amount for part-time 50%, 12-months or up to 48,000 EUR - total amount for full-time, 12-months, including any VAT, tax or employer contributions that may arise from contracting.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Collect, clean, and prepare data from digital sources (e.g., social media, online media, surveys). 

  • Monitor digital media and social platforms to identify narratives, trends and conversations. 

  • Analyse sociopolitical content from the country relevant to the role, using the corresponding local language (Italian in Italy, German in German, or Polish in Poland). 

  • Produce concise reports combining qualitative and quantitative insights. 

  • Support narrative analysis, including frames, actors and value-based messaging. 

  • Support the translation of key findings into useful and accessible content for civil society organizations. 

  • Actively participate in team meetings and learn relevant methodologies (e.g., narrative, content, or audience analysis). 

Requirements 

  • Academic background in social sciences, communications, cultural studies, or related fields. 

  • Analyze and synthesize qualitative and quantitative data (e.g., narrative patterns, engagement metrics, emerging topics). 

  • Basic knowledge of data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Google Sheets, basic visualization or scraping tools). 

  • Excellent English. 

  • Fluency in one of the following languages — Italian in Italy, German in Germany or Polish in Poland — with solid understanding of the sociopolitical contexts of the country you apply for. 

  • Interest in social justice, human rights, or narrative change work

Additional skills (any of these are a plus, not required) 

  • Basic understanding of statistics. 

  • Interest in spatial data or GIS tools. 

  • Curiosity about Open-Sources Intelligence (OSINT) or digital investigation methods. 

  • Exposure to polling, surveys or audience research. 

  • Interest in Social Network Analysis (SNA).
