DemPulse 2026: Germany
Across 2026, DemPulse works with civil society organisations in Germany to track how democratic and anti-democratic narratives are shaping public life online, and to translate that research into practical, data-driven communications.
Our work in Germany runs across three strands. Ideation Sessions bring participating organisations together to turn our digital and public opinion research into strategic action. Each session is a working space where CSOs learn about research findings, engage with them, and adapt them to their own work. Insights Presentations set out the research findings for Germany in a clear, shareable form, distilling what the digital and public opinion research shows into a format organisations can use directly in their own communications and planning. Focus group research complements our digital research with 20 focus groups across Germany, France, Italy, Spain and Poland. We test messages with citizens to understand what resonates, what divides, and which frames build trust and engagement.

Focus groups
In Germany we run four focus groups across two audiences. Each audience is split into separate groups for men and women. The audiences are Base, core supporters of democratic standards, and Persuadable, citizens who are open to democratic arguments but not firmly committed. Focus groups for Germany will be taking place in late september.
